WOLFE: A LIFE OF EXCELLENCE

Hello! My name is Brad Stabio and I’m a Denver-based filmmaker. Thank you for your time!

If you are interested in this documentary becoming a reality, here is more information.

What we need:

I grew up performing in the Colorado Children’s Chorale under the direction of Duain Wolfe and his amazing staff of musicians and conductors. My goal is to produce a documentary featuring Duain Wolfe that captures his life and legacy.

If you choose to donate to the production of this film, it will be tax deductible through the Denver Film Society’s Fiscal Sponsorship program. This allows us to raise money through their 501C3 non-profit and allows you to donate and get a tax break for your efforts.

Below is more information about the project and about me and my company, Stabio Productions. I wish I could say it will be a money making endeavor but in most cases, a documentary like this does not make money. The worth is in the storytelling of a life well lived and Duain Wolfe’s incredible legacy. The funds raised will go toward production, research, travel, equipment rental, crew costs, expenses, editing, graphics, music rights, marketing and distribution. With all of these combined, the amount needed to produce a film gets large fast and that is why we need your help.

Our end goal is to create a film that can screen at festivals around the world, be broadcast on television and be picked up for streaming.

Your donation goes towards telling this story and giving a wider audience a look into a the life of a musical genius.

About Duain Wolfe:

From his humble beginnings in rural Louisiana to leading two of the top symphony chorus ensembles in the world, Duain Wolfe’s commitment to excellence in the performing arts has shaped how choral and musical directors approach the craft.

Wolfe is a two-time Grammy Award winner, Chicago Symphony Chorus Director for 28 years, founder of the Colorado Symphony Chorus and Director since 1984, founder of the Colorado Children’s Chorale and Artistic Director from 1974-1999, was given the 1987 Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts from the City and County of Denver, earned the Governor’s Arts Award from the Colorado Council on the Arts in 1999. In 2001, Wolfe received a Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Award and In 2012, Chorus America awarded Wolfe the Michael Korn Founders Award for Development of the Professional Choral Art, given annually to a conductor in recognition of “a lifetime of significant contributions to the professional choral art.”

Now, as he begins his journey toward retirement, Duain Wolfe’s story is ripe to be told through film.

From his humble beginnings moving from rural Louisiana to Arizona and Illinois with his mother and minister father, to creating one of the country’s leading children’s choirs and directing two of the top symphony chorus ensembles in the world, Duain Wolfe has contributed to shaping how choral and musical directors approach the craft.
